Intake
This is the first step, and it is the only form on this site a stranger fills in. It asks four things: what to call you, how to reach you, what brings you here, and how soon. There is no account to make and nothing to pay.
You do not have to have decided anything before you send it. Not to stop, and not to call the problem by any particular name. The conversation afterwards can be about whether there is a problem at all.
What happens to what you write
It is stored privately on this site and read by me. A copy is sent to my inbox as well, so that an enquiry is not sitting unread behind a login. It does not appear in a search engine and it is not passed to anyone. If you would rather not put something in writing yet, leave it out and say so when we speak.
What happens next
I write back. If what you need is something I do not do, I will say that plainly and point you somewhere better rather than take you on.
If you are sending this for somebody else, say so in the box. Who does the work is settled in the conversation afterwards, and it is not always the person who sent the form.
Before you send it
This is not an emergency service. Enquiries are not monitored in real time.
Something sent at three in the morning is read in the morning. If tonight will not wait that long, ring a local emergency number, or wake somebody in the house.
