Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 16 September 2026
This policy covers the four things you can pay for: a reading subscription, a programme enrolment, clinical sessions, and a book. Each works differently, so each is treated differently here.
Three things are true of all of them.
We charge no GST. idinsayit is not registered for it. The figure on your receipt is the whole figure, and a refund is that whole figure back. We do not take the payment gateway’s fee out of it. That is our cost, not yours.
Refunds go back the way the money came. Everything here is paid through Razorpay, so a refund returns to the card, account or UPI handle that paid it. We cannot send it somewhere else and we will not ask you for bank details. If that card has expired or that account has closed, the refund still has to go back the same way, it takes longer, and we tell you what Razorpay needs from you to complete it.
This is an Indian business and Indian law applies. Your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 stand whatever this page says. Anywhere this page says less than the law does, the law wins.
How to ask
Write to iam@idinsayit.com from the address on your account and tell us:
- which of the four you mean: subscription, programme, sessions, or a book;
- the payment reference from your receipt;
- the date of the charge;
- one line on why.
One line is enough. You do not have to build a case, and we do not mark the reason.
What happens, and how long it takes
- We acknowledge within 48 hours, which is what the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 require of any complaint. It is the same deadline on every page here.
- We decide within 5 working days of acknowledging, so within 7 working days of your email, and give you the reason either way.
- If we approve it, we submit it to Razorpay within 2 working days.
- Your bank or card issuer then takes 5 to 7 working days, sometimes longer on an international card. That part is theirs and we cannot hurry it.
Worst case, that is about three weeks from your email to money in your account, and most of it is the banking system rather than us. We would rather say so now than leave you wondering in the second week.
If the seventh working day passes with no answer from us, that is our failure and not a queue you are in. Write again with the word overdue in the subject line and it goes to the top.
The reading subscription
399 rupees a month, or 3,900 a year, charged through Razorpay.
You pay for the period, and the period is yours. A subscription is not refunded once it is paid. This is the part worth being plain about, so here it is in full: cancelling does not claw money back, it stops the next payment. You keep reading to the end of the period you have already paid for, and then it ends. There is no part-month and no part-year, on either plan.
Cancelling. Do it yourself from your account, whenever you like. You do not have to ask us, you do not have to explain, and nobody will write to talk you out of it.
Charged twice, or charged wrongly. Refunded in full, every time. A mistake of ours is not a refund request, it is a mistake, and we fix it without asking you for a reason.
A card that stops working. Razorpay will retry a failed renewal on its own schedule, and while it does, nothing changes for you. If it never goes through, the subscription simply ends. We do not chase you for the money, we do not pass it to anyone who would, and nothing of yours is deleted.
Gifted or comped. Nothing was paid, so nothing comes back, and cancelling costs you nothing.
Programme enrolments
There is no cohort and no start date. We talk first, we agree together that the work is right for you, and a payment link follows that conversation. Your clinician then opens one session at a time, when the one before it has been written and read. Nothing opens on a timer.
So this is counted in sessions opened to you, not in weeks passed, and it is a straight line.
- Before your first session opens: everything back, whatever the reason and whenever you ask.
- Once your first session has opened: nothing back. The material has been delivered, and it cannot be handed in again.
That is deliberately blunt, and it is blunt in both directions. What you are paying for is the material and the reading of what you write, and both of those begin the moment the first session opens.
A pause instead of a refund. This work gets interrupted by life more often than it does not. You can put a programme on hold at no charge and pick it up later, and we keep everything you have written. Ask, and say roughly when you think you will be back. If you never come back, that is allowed too. A pause is almost always the better answer than a refund, and it is the one we will offer you first.
If we stop it. If we end or suspend a programme for a reason of our own, everything you have paid for and not received comes back, with no argument and no arithmetic in our favour.
If you have to stop because you are unwell. Write and say so, and we will pause it for as long as you need, at no charge and with everything you have written kept. That is not us being difficult about the refund rule: a pause gives you back the whole of what you paid for, and a refund of an opened programme would give you back none of it. We do not ask for a letter or a diagnosis.
Clinical sessions
A block is paid for up front and it is not refunded. It is used. Sessions are bought several at a time, before the first of them, and sometimes at a rate below the usual one because they were bought together. That is the trade: you commit, and the price reflects it. What you buy is time held for you, and you take the value of it by using it.
You can see the count yourself. What you bought, what has been used and what is left are on your own page in the portal, beside a dated list of every session you have had and what each one was marked as. You never have to ask us for the number, and you never have to take our word for it. If a line looks wrong, say so and we will look at it.
Unused sessions do not run out. There is no expiry date while you are in treatment, and nobody will tell you that you have taken too long to use them. A session is fifty minutes of time held for you, and an empty slot cannot be sold to anyone else at short notice. That is the whole reason notice matters.
Cancelling or moving a single session:
- 48 hours notice or more: no charge. The session goes back into your block.
- Less than 48 hours notice, or not attending at all: the session comes out of the block.
Your first one is free. The first time you cancel late or miss a session, it costs you nothing. Not the first this year. The first, ever. Relapse, crises and weeks that come apart are not failures of scheduling. They are the thing we treat. We will not bill you for the first one. We will talk about it instead, which is more use to you.
If the clinician cancels. For any reason at all, the session goes straight back into your block and we find you another time. It costs you nothing and you do not have to ask.
The first conversation, where we work out whether this is right for you, happens before anything is bought. There is no charge for it and so nothing to refund.
Stopping is not a billing question. You can stop at any time. We will tell you once what we think and then respect it. What you have not used stays on your account rather than being cancelled, so if you come back to this later it is still there.
Books
A book is a single purchase, not a subscription, and it is a file rather than a thing in a box. You do not need an account to buy one. The link is emailed to you, it opens the file once, and the file is then yours to keep.
- Before you download it: full refund, on request, no reason needed. Nothing has been delivered yet.
- Once you have downloaded it: no refund. You have the book, and we cannot take it back off your device. That is the trade with anything digital and we would rather say it before you buy than after.
- If the file will not open, or is not the book you paid for: refunded in full, or replaced, whichever you would rather. That is us failing to deliver, not you changing your mind.
If you lose the file. The link opens once, on purpose, because a link that opens forever ends up in places nobody intended. If a download fails, a phone dies, or a laptop is replaced, write to iam@idinsayit.com with the reference on your receipt and we will open it again. There is no charge for that, no limit on how often you ask, and you do not have to explain what happened.
If we are the reason
Everything above is about you changing your mind. This is the other case, and it is treated differently.
If we are the reason you cannot use what you paid for, because we closed your account through no fault of yours, because we withdrew the thing you were paying for, or because we changed our terms to your disadvantage and you would rather leave, then we return the part you can no longer use. All three: the rest of a subscription period, the sessions still sitting in your block, and any part of a programme that was never opened to you.
A block is not refundable when you change your mind. It is refundable when we are the ones who stopped, because then it is not a block any more, it is money we are holding for sessions we are not going to give you.
That is not a refund for a change of heart. It is money back for something we did not deliver, and you should not have to ask for it twice.
What we do not refund
- Sessions you attended.
- Programme sessions already opened to you.
- Any part of a subscription period you have paid for, unless we are the reason you cannot use it.
- A block of sessions, used or not, where you are the one stopping. It is paid up front and taken in sessions. If we are the ones stopping, see above.
- A book you have already downloaded.
That is the entire list. There is nothing further down and nothing in smaller type.
If you think we have it wrong
Say so in a reply. Most of these turn out to be a misunderstanding and most are settled there.
If you still disagree, ask for a review. Write to iam@idinsayit.com with the word Compliance in the subject line. That marks it for review rather than for whoever answered you first, it is looked at again by someone who did not make the original decision and is not asked to defend it, and you get a final written answer within thirty days, usually a good deal sooner.
You do not have to wait for that before going elsewhere. You can raise a dispute with your card issuer, and you can take a complaint to a consumer forum under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, at any point. If you do open a chargeback, tell us as well. Access stays on while the bank decides, and we would rather answer them with the facts than hear about it afterwards.
Complaints about how we have handled your data are a different route and go to the Grievance Officer. That is on the Data Protection & Grievance Redressal page.
