Programme

ANNEAL™

ANNEAL is five sessions on how your mind works: the first move, the guards that defend the pattern, the rules you wrote young, what the pattern pays and the self-story. Each closes with one page of your case file, which goes with you into FORGE.

ANNEAL sits between BARE and FORGE. BARE was about seeing your pattern and interrupting it. ANNEAL gives you an account of the machinery of your own mind: why the first move arrives before the decision, and why willpower alone kept losing. The working rule is three sentences: "You cannot stop the first move. You are entirely responsible for the second. Noticing is the job."

The rule is not permission. Nobody is blamed for a first move, and everything after it belongs to you. The more you practise noticing, the earlier your second move arrives.

The case file is written only by you, and you are its only analyst. Your clinician reads it. Nobody interprets your pages back at you.

The path

5 sessions · 1 part · BARE comes first

  1. The Case File

The Mind Behind the Mind shows why the first move arrives before you decide. In the Hunch Log you write three situations where your body voted before your mind was asked. The Bodyguards names six guards: Denial, Minimising, Blaming, Justifying, Joking and Numbing. Your two most-used go into the Guard Register, each with the sentence it says in your voice. The Old Script fills the Echo Map with three lines: one rule you wrote young, one scene that keeps re-staging and what the pattern stood in for. The Hidden Ledger records what the pattern paid you, what it billed you and which account the interest came out of. The Author asks whose voice says your old sentences. The Next Page holds one sentence of your own, dated and signed.

How it works

One session at a time

The five sessions come in order. The clinician who reads your work releases each by hand. The first four each give you something to catch between sessions: a first move a day, a guard sentence a day, one feeling older than its situation, one moment a habit pays you. The fifth gives none: the practice is your Next Page sentence, lived daily. The Old Script goes no deeper than one rule, one scene, one sentence. If any page touches something bigger than its lines can hold, stop writing and tell your clinician the same day.

Each session opens in your own private area of this site. You read it, then write your answers there, and the clinician who reads your work replies. Nothing is timed.

What is held, and for how long

What you write is private. It is not used to train anything, not sold, and not shared with anyone who does not need to know, and never without your specific consent except where the law requires it, as the Privacy Policy sets out. It is kept for three years after your last contact with the practice, and you can ask for a copy or its deletion at any point.
